I am writing this review on 9/6/2018. We spent over $1000.00 on our garage door to have basically all new parts but that is not the reason for this review. After all of the work the door still closed rather hard, I called on Sunday 9/2/2018 and asked if someone could come by and check to see if it can be adjusted so it does not close so hard. I asked if there would be a charge and was told no. Today a tech named Adam came and my wife told me he was the most rude arrogant and condescending individual that has ever come to our home, My wife was so upset they way he talked down to her. You may want to call so she can give you the whole story. Our phone num
"I couldn't be happier, they solved a year long problem we had that a competing company of theirs (who installed the garage on our new home) couldn't fix! I feel Ric and Randy both (who have fixed a garage at my old house and my new house) take a lot of pride in their work, they are ethical and operate with integrity. I only want to work with Precision Garage Door from now on. I'd recommend them to anyone and everyone! ”
Sectional: Also known as a raised panel door, this door is the most common. It is made of several horizontal panels hinged together, fitted with wheels and mounted within a track. The biggest advantage of this door is it takes up relatively little space and easily controlled with a standard remote garage door opener for a nominal cost. Their moving parts are readily accessible which can keep repair costs low. The average cost for sectional door repairs is $128.
No matter what type of garage door opener you have, you should always lube the rail where it comes in contact with the trolley carriage. Use a lubricant that doesn’t attract dirt. Silicone spray is a good choice. If you have a screw-drive opener, you’ll need to grease several spots along the rail gear at least once or twice a year. In colder climates, use lithium grease, which won’t harden when the temperature drops. Many home centers sell specifically formulated products near the openers. And don’t use too much or it could drip on your car.
I had an unusual problem with my door opener that totally stumped 2 previous companies. They would sell me parts that did not fix the problem. Then I tried A1 Door Garage Service. A1 was also initially stumped, but kept exploring solutions. Even refunding my cost of parts I bought that did not resolve the issue. How's THAT for great service. After about 5 visits from A1 the problem is fixed. I am very pleased. JD from A1 stuck with it and did not give up until I was satisfied with the repair, and adjusted my final bill to reflect a refund of parts I purchased that did not fix the problem.
what should be the length of the drain vent. I had it at the roof level. But since I am getting bad smell in my house via bathrooms (or may be via roof door), I have just extended the length of the vent pipe. Is there any scientific method to estimate the right length? Plus is there any tester to test from where the bad sewage odor is coming from into the living room. It's a two-story villa.
Wheel Track Obstruction – Try closing the garage door manually to see if there are obstructions on the wheel tracks. If that is not the case, examine your tracks for potential damage like dents and bends. Look at your door to see if it is hanging unevenly. If the track is damaged or the door is hanging unevenly, it is time to call a professional for repairs. Track repairs can typically cost $133 to $154. Cost for correcting the uneven hanging of doors themselves can vary greatly, but typically cost about $125.
Spring Issues - Unless it is due to an obstruction of some type, uneven movement of your garage door is likely caused by a problem with the spring mechanism. Roll-up doors generally have one center-mounted torsion spring. The tension on torsion springs is great. Therefore, it is necessary to call a professional for any repairs to this type of spring mechanism to avoid serious injury. Because replacement of these springs or cables in a garage door can take at least two or three hours of labor, costs can average $300 or more.
10The type of garage door shown provides the necessary lift assistance with a “torque tube.” If you intend to use an opener, wait to install the tube. Otherwise, install the torque tube according to the manufacturer’s directions. Roll up the door about 4 feet to check for the alignment of the tracks, and make any adjustments. Then tighten all fasteners.
We had a garage door spring to break on a Friday afternoon. I called another company that I had used before and they said it would be Wednesday of next week for service. I then did the Web Search and found Precision Door and called them. They had a service person onsite that day before 6pm, replaced the broken spring and adjusted the door to close properly. I am very satisfied with the excellent response and service that Precision Door provided. I will use them again!!!
A garage door opener is a motorized device that is used to open and close a garage door. Garage door openers are controlled using remotes, keypads, or even smartphones. Having a garage door opener is just as important as the door itself. The ability to open your door without having to physically step out of your car is an excellent convenience in today's society.
We worked with Matt to replace our garage door openers. He did an excellent job and worked in cold weather to finish the job. He answered all our questions throughout (before, during, and after) and explained the entire process, features, and additional accessories for the opener. Matt provided exceptional customer service, he was professional, and understanding of our needs. Matt and Anna helped us schedule the appointment at our earliest availability and offered a great deal. We received another offer which was couple hundred dollars lower but we went with Precision Door for their customer service and transparency into solution for us to meet our needs. I highly recommend Precision Door and will do business with them for our future needs.
A torsion spring counterbalance system consists of one or two tightly wound up springs on a steel shaft with cable drums at both ends. The entire apparatus mounts on the header wall above the garage door and has three supports: a center bearing plate with a steel or nylon bearing and two end bearing plates at both ends. The springs themselves consist of the steel wire with a stationary cone at one end and a winding cone at the other end. The stationary cone is attached to the center bearing plate. The winding cone consists of holes every 90 degrees for winding the springs and two set screws to secure the springs to the shaft. Steel counterbalance cables run from the roller brackets at the bottom corners of the door to a notch in the cable drums. When the door is raised, the springs unwind and the stored tension lifts the door by turning the shaft, thus turning the cable drums, wrapping the cables around the grooves on the cable drums. When the door is lowered, the cables unwrap from the drums and the springs are rewound to full tension.

I chose Precision because of an ad I saw advertising free service call. I was looking to replace the sensors on 2 garage doors. Ben the tech- very nice and knowledgeable told me I would have to replace both units because the base unit was too old. Fine not what I was looking to do but I understood until he quoted me over $900 for 2 units. My friend just had hers replaced for $350. When I told Ben I would think about it He said that would be $80 for the service call. My free coupon only works if you get a repair. It took less than 15 mins. Needless to say I have called a few other companies and the going rate is $340-$350 no service fee
Similar to other products, there is always the possibility of requiring maintenance for your garage door opener. Any unusual movements or sounds should be addressed immediately and brought to the attention of a repairman. Eventually with time, the motor is likely to fail. Other parts, including the springs, chains, hinges 4, etc., can start to fail sooner. Replacing these parts when they start to fail will help to extend the lifespan of the product. Lubrication is a good practice to keep the chains, rollers, hinges 4, and pulleys from failing and creating expensive repair bills.
Extension spring systems should always be restrained by a safety cable that runs through the middle of the spring, tying off to a solid point at the rear and front of the horizontal door track. Extension springs represent a hazard to bystanders when a spring, pulley, or cable breaks under tension. Metal parts from extension spring systems can suddenly be launched.
Step 5: Check for loose hardware, and tighten as needed. On swing-up doors, check the plates where the spring is mounted to be sure the screws are tight, and tighten any loose screws. On roll-up doors, check the hinges that hold the sections of the door together; tighten any loose screws, and replace any damaged hinges. Sagging at one side of the door can often be corrected by servicing the hinges. If a screw hole is enlarged, replace the screw with a longer one of the same diameter, and use a hollow fiber plug, dipped in carpenters' glue, with the new screw. If the wood is cracked at a hinge, remove the hinge and fill the cracks and the screw holes with wood filler. Let the filler dry and then replace the hinge. If possible, move the hinge onto solid wood.
