Kevin came and did an inspection and after he was done pointed out things the installer of our door had done wrong. The work he did was very thorough. He was very valuable to me, as I have a newborn and an unsafe door is very dangerous. Kevin came and fixed the problems we were having and made our door safe again. I would recommend Kevin and Precision any time.
Door styles - in addition to the styles just mentioned, it is important to also consider additional features such as windows across the top of the door to provide light inside of the garage, the use of steel or wood frames to give decorative doors added security and stability, and insulation which can reduce energy costs in the attached garage by an impressive 15 to 20%; and
I had no idea who to call when I needed garage door repair. I googled and took my chances. How happy I am that I contacted Precision Door Service. I was able to schedule service right away during hours that worked around my work schedule. The man who serviced my broken garage door was most professional and knowledgeable. He took the time to explain what was wrong with my garage door and gave me several options about the ways to fix my garage door and the varying prices. My garage door was fixed promptly and is now working very well. I am so pleased with Precision Door Service and I will certainly recommend the company to friends and neighbors who are experiencing similar issues. Gratefully, Kathy Rather
R-value describes the power of the insulation in your door. The higher the r-value, the stronger the insulation. Those doors will have better energy efficiency than doors that have a low r-value. Basic doors have an r-value of 0.0 with no insulation. The first step up gives you 1-3/8” insulation at a 6.5 rating. Next, a 1-3/8” thickness with Intellicore has a 12.9 r-value. The best option on the market is the 18.4 r-value, which has 2” Intellicore insulation.
Sears offers two different drive mechanisms to accommodate your home and budget. If you're looking for a smooth and quiet opener for a garage door with rooms located above the garage or attached to the garage, the belt drive is going to be the best for you. You can also choose a chain drive opener, which is perfect for garages that are unattached to the home.
An extension spring counterbalance system consists of a pair of stretched springs running parallel to the horizontal tracks. The springs lift the door through a system of pulleys and counterbalance cables running from the bottom corner brackets through the pulleys. When the door is raised, the springs contract, thus lifting the door as the tension is released. Typically these springs are made of 11 gauge galvanized steel, and the lengths of these springs are based on the height of the garage door in question. Their lifting weight capacity can best be identified by the color that is painted on the ends of the springs.

Many garage door openers can be purchased with lighting features. The lighting features can be for security reasons or simply for light in the garage. The light is mounted right on the motor housing and will turn on when you use the opener. The light will stay on for approximately 15 to 30 seconds after the garage door is closed, but can also be turned on using a remote control or a wall-mounted switch. If your garage door opener does not come with lighting features, you can have them installed for roughly $50-$100. If you need to replace the light in the lighting fixture, a light bulb will cost $10-$15. You may need to hire an electrician for installation if the wiring is not in place. The cost to hire an electrician is $65-$85 per hour, and this process will only take an hour.
Once the chain is secure, separate it from both sides of the trolley. Disconnect the rail from the header bracket and move the rail off to one side. Slide off the old trolley, and slide on the new one. Reattach the chain and adjust the chain tension. Replacing the trolley on a belt drive and replacing it on a screw drive are similar procedures. A new trolley will cost $25 to $40 depending on your model.

We work with customers every day on getting new custom doors, wood doors, steel doors or even glass doors! There are so many options to choose from and we try to educate you on all of those options so that you can make the buying decision that is right for you. We know that new garage doors are a big investment so it’s really important to have the right knowledge.

Another way to control the opening and closing of your garage door is using a keypad. This is a great way to get into the garage without having to worry about having your key or remote control. Key pads are often installed on the outside of the garage door on the wall. Keypads are controlled using a PIN number that you enter using the touchpad. You can do this to open and close the garage. You can even create temporary PINs for giving access to your repair workers, delivery men, or even neighbors, for a keyless entry. Keypads can be purchased separately from a garage door opener. Keypads for garage doors average in price between $25-$70.

Both springs broke on my double door, and I had no idea who to call. I asked my smart phone for garage door repairs and they gave me one company listed in Lebanon. I called and set up an appointment with the tech and he said he would be there in an hour. After 4 hours I called and they got me to the tech and here is what he said after my 4 hour wait: "We can't do that, you will need to call someone else." I asked if he needed to reschedule, and he said, "No, call some other company." My temperature was high and I looked on my computer and Precision came up on the screen. I looked it over real good, checked the reviews and called them on Saturday morning. They said a tech could be out by noon. The tech called at 10:30 and said he could be here by 11am if that was alright. It was. John showed up at 11, we greeted each other, I felt good as soon as I met him. He looked over the door, sure enough both springs broke, cable off. He gave me 3 options: just fix the springs and cable; do that and change out the rollers which were clearly rusted and lots of play; and do that with a life-time warranty. No pressure, he was ready to do whatever I said. I told him the first option for now, and he went right to work. My wife and I discussed that our door was over 14 years old and has had no maintenance at all, and we decided to have the warranty. No problem. John was through and thorough in no time at all. The door sounded amazing, we had gotten so used to the noise, until it was not there any more - smooth and quiet and efficient. I am so thankful the other company blew me off, so that I came in contact with Precision. Great job. I will recommend them to everyone. 5 STARS ALL THE WAY!

Remember, not all garage door springs are alike. They are not one size fits all. If yours breaks, make a note of the brand and color code on the spring you need to replace. We'll get you the garage door opener parts you need, from seal kits to torsion and extension spring kits. Save money by replacing garage door hardware instead of replacing the whole unit.
